Henry King

Henry King, barrister and legal consultant has a practice based in London that specialises in costs litigation, personal injury, insurance, employment, and commercial disputes. With more than seven years’ experience at the Bar, he advises clients on complex claims, settlement strategy, and contested matters involving substantial financial value.

Recognised in the Legal 500 2025 for Costs Litigation, Mr. King is known for his detailed understanding of both historic and current fixed costs regimes. He acts for receiving and paying parties, as well as individuals and businesses pursuing claims involving insurers. His work often includes high-value disputes exceeding £100,000, with experience in cases valued above £1 million.

Alongside his costs and insurance practice, Henry King has developed a growing commercial focus. He has represented corporate clients in disputes involving manufacturers, suppliers, contractors, indemnity provisions, and technical service failures, including matters connected with dewatering obligations. Across his career, he has also handled more than 1,000 personal injury matters, giving him a strong practical grounding in both litigation and negotiation.

Before qualifying as a barrister, Henry King gained early legal experience as a paralegal at a leading law firm and as a legal assistant with a health penalty defence charity within New Orleans. His community work has included teaching English to middle school students in Tianzhu, China, and joining a cross-cultural volunteer team in rural Nepal to support improved sexual health education and awareness.

Mr. King earned his LLB in Law with French Law and Language from the University of Leicester. Outside his legal practice, he is committed to health and endurance sport, having completed the Royal Parks and Strasbourg half marathons while training toward a full marathon.
